As the Labor and Employment practice group leader for Spencer Fane, Paul Satterwhite helps employers interpret and understand the constantly changing landscape of employment laws and to proactively manage their employment law risks. He focuses his practice on risk management so that the employers he works with can focus their efforts more on the operation of their businesses and less on the management of employment disputes and legal claims. In addition to human resources counseling and risk management, Paul regularly works with employers to defend employment-related lawsuits and charges of discrimination, labor arbitrations, wage and hour investigations, and unfair labor practice charges filed with the NLRB). He works with unionized employers to develop strategies for union negotiations and handles collective bargaining negotiations for clients. Paul also has substantial experience counseling employers on non-competition agreements and other restrictive covenants and in handling restrictive covenant litigation.

Brian Peterson

Brian Peterson helps businesses, both large and small, avoid employment-related lawsuits by drafting and reviewing employee handbooks and policies and, conducting employee training programs. Using his extensive knowledge and understanding of employment law, Brian defends businesses and individual managers that have been accused of unlawful discrimination and other employment law violations. He handles all aspects of employment litigation including wage and hour violations, sexual harassment claims, hostile work environment claims, retaliation claims, and whistleblower claims.
